Naked Necks are a true dual-purpose breed.

Great for a homestead flock where you want easy to manage birds, plenty of eggs, and delicious meat that is quick & easy to process.

 

* Self-sustaining. They can mate naturally. Once you have your initial birds, you don't have to purchase them again. Just hatch their eggs to make more.

*Ready for processing at 16 weeks. Letting them mature to this age produces a more flavorful meat.

* Naked Necks have 50% less feathers. They are very easy to pluck compared to other breeds. No need for expensive processing equipment.

​

* They do extremely well in the heat but also tolerate cold temperatures well. Mine did great in the winter in an unheated coop.

* Extremely hardy. Resistant to coccidia and many poultry diseases. 

​

* Friendly personalities. They seem to enjoy human interaction.

​

* Lay over 200 eggs per year. They lay through the winter, too.
